| Hello people out there, I am back. Haven't been blogging for some time
because i was pissed off at some people whom i didn't feel i needed to
explain myself to but was still pissed anyway and also because i have
been too busy to think about what to write and what not to. Just off
the phone with April Moh, might just fly over and meet her since she'll
be in this part of the world anyways. And she encouraged me to update
everyone back home so I shall...I guess it's more meaningful this way,
to write just once in a while and not bore you with the minutest
details of my exsistence...
Okay...from the initial excitement of driving on the massive
californian freeways now I consider myself a seasoned driver
here...currently I'm skipping most of my classes to go surfing everyday
coz I think I shouldn't be studying too hard...and yah the more i study
the more I realise how my future does not lie in an engineering
field...I'm more or less set on venturing into law in the future and
becoming a consultant or something. My german friend was amazed at how
come there Singaporean engineer undergrads have such little affinity
for the stuff they study..coz my friends with me here too have little
affection for what we study. Yep such is the Singaporean
engineering undergrad. But Engineering has been good to me, I have no
presentations and projects and it's not too hard to scrape by...
Most of my weekends have been spent at house parties or travelling.
Halloween where at a single party there'll be umteen girls in bunny and
playgirl costumes...yes brand me as shallow, I am..And yeah I get along
with most people well so I get invited to many...that halloween weekend
I was at back to back parties from like friday to sunday...until I fell
sick...sabrina can testify to that. grinz...
Haven't been in church for some time...no particular reason, just that
i've been doing other stuff on weekends..either sleeping off the
saturday night party or out of town. Yes i've been to vegas again, car
trip this time with all my friends in the Internaional House...thrill
of gambling, lights, shows...the complete vegas experience. Won't be
there again anytime soon...
Been out into Mexico quite often too...mainly shopping as any good
singaporean...they have some cool stuff but a lot of junk as
well...We've been to like factory outlets too...yes Sab was like all
giggly and excited when i told her Levi jeans here were like 30 bucks a
piece...bought some shirts from this awesome brand Gregory
something...my new fave brand...nike. GAP, Nautica, Polo Ralph....these
are some of the brands that have factory outlets here...anyone wants
anything jus drop me an email or something...
Yeah elections were really interesting...like all of us in front of the
TV while the votes were being counted and like giving out views and
stuff...I'm singaporean - a couch commentator...i have lots of views
but i just will not say them on a public podium...and I knew that Bush
would win right from the start...not a popular view here in California
which is considered a Demoncratic state...I've got this big Bush Cheney
placard which I got from 3rd street promenade, LA.
Yep I've made many good friends while over here..I've got travel
destinations all lined up for the next 10 years...all with friends
there who can let me bum at their place and show me around. And yeah hopefully some of them will come to Singapore too..
April Moh was like "dude, love life how?" Well like every other fun
loving exchange student, I've not been idle, and even got a rep here of
being Doc Love which is what my Aussie roomie and a german guy calls
me...dispensing love advice...laughs. Ah my Aussie roomie is the ladies
man man...he attracts chicks everywhere he goes...by virtue of his easy
going and out spoken nature =)
Hmm...school here definitely is a better breeding ground for
creativity...people can put up tables and banners about anything and
everything...I even spoke to a guy who had a table and was convinced
that Dick Cheney is the son of Satan...that WAS an interesting
conversation...but that's america for you...weird people
everywhere...but home of the most creative minds in the world.
Heard about what happened in CF thru a few of my close friends...I saw it coming. Sorry.
Yep these 5 6 months will be a dream to me in the years to come, but
hell that's life anyway, isn't it? A big dream. Make sure it's a good
dream, whatever you choose to do.
Yep..I've had so many adventures these few months...and because of my
rebellious side it adds on to the excitement...when will I be going
back? Prob in mid Jan by the way things are shaping now...it's almost
impossible for non US citizen engineers to find a job or an internship
here...but who knows? I'll be cool whatever happens..
In the meantime you guys take care and yeah be good.
Cheers...
Andrew the aspiring surfer dude....

| Crusin' down the massive Californian freeways on a sunny day, beaches
and palm trees by the side, Beach Boys playing on the radio...awesome.
| | |
| It's official!! I haven't put on weight!! ahahahahahahahaha...
Going to drive on the WRONG side of the road this weekend...beach resort weekend in LA..excited =) 14 of us.. | | |
| Hugs are meant to be shared...nothing beats a hug on a cold night...
Dinner, wine, walk, girl in your arms, gentlle music playing in the background...

| Been thinking about exactly why exactly i like California, well weather
and beaches aside, I don't feel the same social pressure to conform
like i do back home. Sometimes it seems as though my whole life has
been planned out for me already, but down here i feel free. Free to
pursue what i want in life...free from all the constraints that tie me
down back in Singapore. People don't feel a need to conform here....
This freedom can be easily and has been abused, like the guy who died
drinking and doing drugs in a Frat House round the corner last
weekend...if we all don't live by certain rights and wrongs in life
your whole life will be messed up...seriously =)
